1. Establishment of the "CCTSS Art and Museum Committee"

Introduction: Chinese Culture Translation and Studies Support (CCTSS) established the “CCTSS Art and Museum Committee” in an effort to help Chinese arts and cultural products and exhibitions be discovered overseas while also improving the level of translation and international influence. It is hoped the project will truly popularize such works abroad and serve as a database for collecting foreign feedback. The committee welcomes experts who have worked in the arts and culture field as creators, translators, curators, academic researchers, and localization specialists to deeply discuss means of “sending” Chinese works of art abroad and popularizing them throughout the world.
2. Chinese-French Translation Workshop
Date: Monday, March 19 to Saturday, May 19, 2018
Location: Paris, Arles, Beijing
Introduction: CCTSS, in tandem with ATLAS and the French Embassy, has established the “CCTSS-ATLAS Chinese-French Translation Workshop.” This organization aims to discover and develop talented young Chinese and French translators, increase communication between the two cultures, improve the quality of translations, and boost a bidirectional exchange of cultural translations across the two countries. Since the workshop officially began operations on December 20, 2017, it has already received 29 applications. In 2018, three Chinese translators and three French translators who are eligible are selected to participate in a nine-week course held in China and France. During these nine weeks, the translators will engage in a collaborative translation of three contemporary books that were selected by the two countries.
The organization will also hold community events and public forums. Expert translators are invited to sign up for these events, share their experiences, and interact with guests face to face.
3. 2018 Sino-Foreign Audiovisual Translation and Dubbing Cooperation Symposium (Beijing)

Introduction: Supported by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China and State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television and hosted by the Bureau for External Cultural Relations, Ministry of Culture, the 2018 Sino-Foreign Audiovisual Translation and Dubbing Cooperation Symposium (SFATD) will be held for two sessions in 2018, with the first one in Beijing from April 16 to 21 and the second in Shanghai from June 12 to 18, to provide a platform for dialogues and mutual translation and dubbing cooperation between TV and film industries of China and the world. The Workshop is hosted by the Bureau for External Cultural Relations, Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China, and aims to strengthen communication and practical cooperation between China and other countries in the field of audiovisual translation and dubbing, support the international sharing of knowledge and talent exchange in the field, encourage the exchange and mutual appreciation of high-quality audiovisual works from different countries, and enhance mutual learning and understanding across the globe. In collaboration with the 8th Beijing International Film Festival, the 24th Shanghai TV Festival, and the 21st Shanghai International Film Festival, the two sessions of the Workshop will in total invite around 60 international professionals and influential figures specialized in production, translation and dubbing, and promotion and academic studies of film and television.

4. Establishment of the “CCTSS Thai Experts Committee”
Date: April 2018
Location: Thammasat University
Introduction: In order to assist the"Contemporary Chinese Works Translation Project”, recommend and promote exceptional cultural works, and bolster bidirectional translation structures between China and other countries, CCTSS has comprehensively organized exceptional domestic and foreign resources to set up 11 expert committees. There are committees for such languages as Mongolian, English, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Czech, German, Greek, and Nepalese. We plan to continue developing this project in 2018.
The CCTSS Thai Experts Committee assembled experts from Kasetsart University, Mea Fah Luang Unversity, and Huachiew Chalermprakiet University to hold a ceremony for its establishment in addition to the China Readers’ Club Cultural Salon. At the same time, plans have been made to visit the Thai press institutions in an effort to bolster dialogue and bidirectional translation of the literary and published works from the two countries.
5. "United Nations Chinese Language Day" in Geneva, Switzerland

Location: United Nations Palace of Nations, Geneva, Switzerland
Introduction: Language Days at the United Nations seek to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity while also promoting equal use of all six official languages throughout the organization. Cooperating with the Permanent Mission of China to the UN at Geneva and various other delegations of international organizations in Switzerland, CCTSS plans to hold a special event entitled“The Chinese Dream and the Joy of Chinese Characters.” Participants of this event will leave with a better understanding of Chinese characters and history, encouraging further communication between China and other foreign countries and promoting Chinese characters and literary works abroad. The event will tell the story of China and make China’s voice heard.
During the event, a group of Swiss Sinologists and experts from China will be invited by CCTSS to have a dialogue over “the history and implications of Chinese characters” and lead to a better understanding of Chinese characters and culture abroad.
