    吉林省交响乐团是一支具有五十多年历史的艺术表演团体。成立于1954年，几十年来，在各级领导的关心和支持下，乐团不断充实和加强队伍建设，着力于提高演奏水平，增加演出曲目，普及高雅艺术。乐团曾被音乐界权威人士和同行赞誉为"省级一流乐团"。是吉林省内最具职业化、专业化、正规化的独立建制的最高音乐表演团体，也是目前被国家中宣部和国家文化部保留的国家重点院团之一及在国内名列前茅的职业交响乐团和国内最优秀的十佳交响乐团之一。2008年2月乐团根据温家宝总理的诗词《仰望星空》，谱写了交响合唱一首，并上送北京，得到温家宝总理的热情鼓励并亲笔回信，这是乐团在艺术创作方面取得的又一令人鼓舞的成果。
